Senior Technical Programs Specialist
Since joining ITS America in 2010, Adrian Guan has led several research projects for United States Department of Transportation (U.S.DOT) and other ITS America members. He has an extensive work portfolio, including technology assessment on emerging ITS technologies, market insights on ITS market trends, as well as coordination of several industry programs. In March 2016, he became the Secretary of ISO/TC 204 Intelligent Transport Systems and U.S.TAG to the committee to advance ITS standards development on a global scale.
Adrian has dedicated nearly a decade in ITS field prior to joining ITS America, including his research and engineering efforts at the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Berkeley, California PATH and General Motors. He holds master’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Statistics from UC Berkeley. He graduated with honors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Finance. Adrian specializes in vehicular communication systems, and has hands-on experience in machine vision and Geographic Information Systems. He has published several research papers and technical reports, and is currently a committee member and coordinator of TRB ITS Committee.
In his free time, you can find Adrian roaming Smithsonian museums and national parks. He challenges his friends to call him by his Chinese first name “Xu.”
